  Lilly

Lilly, a single mom with three children, including one with diabetes, was having trouble making ends meet.  She was attending Medical school and couldn’t afford to keep paying rent on her own, so they had to move to a shelter.

Soon Lilly found Colorado Homeless Families and was happy to be accepted into our program.  She is a caring mother, kind, and wants to help others through her experience in the medical field.  As often occurs, things didn’t improve right away.  After coming to CHF, Lilly was laid off, she injured her back, and one of her sons broke his arm.  Lilly wants very much to get back on her feet, to provide financially for her family, and to teach them what it is to work hard.  She needs help for the time being, but is determined and self-motivated to work her way up.  In fact, while she is recovering from her injury she was offered another job!

Lilly is grateful for the safety and refuge, as well as the time she finds here; to heal and set goals and to be a strong example for her children.  She wants them to finish school as well as go to college.  We are confident that her kids have no better role model than their own mom.

Update:  After living at CHF for several months, Lilly was able to graduate from the program and move into affordable housing.  We feel confident that Lilly and her boys will continue their hard work and with the grace and knowledge they received from CHF, they will be yet another success story.
